Sherman bought the picture for $385. | The top of Mount Washington has been a weather observatory and in 1870, photographic stereo (3-D) equipment was set up to view and capture cloud formations, and took this UFO picture. This UFO picture is very important for ufology, considering it was shot before any known manned flight had occured.
