I was visiting CalArts in Santa Clarita, CA to use their high quality scanners. After I had finished, I exited the building, facing south, to see a dark abstract shape in the sky. At first I thought it could have possible been a very strange balloon or a cluster of balloons, but upon witnessing it for a long duration of about 5 minutes, it was nearly hovering, suspended in the sky, yet rotating in various directions showing extremely complex forms & angles. It was lead-dark in color, and its shape is nearly inexplicable. It looked as though it was a diagonal elongation, with several points that I could see straight through the object. It seemed as though it had extended "legs" of some sort.
I walked in its direction, at around 34.393934, -118.568719 in one of the parking lots at CalArts. As I was standing at the top of a small hill, it directly about me at around 800ft - 1500ft. Directly under it I could still see through areas that had no mass, with some kind of spiraled tendrils extended out from its body. It accelerated a couple MPH, moved directly above the main CalArts building, to the north. I immediately went inside to try to cross onto the other side of the building to get another look, but when I came out into the courtyard, I couldn't find it in the sky.
